I'm a 21 year old Melbournian, I work in a boutique brewery that's open to the public with the idea of choosing one of our numerous beers and brewing it yourself, Right down to the bottling. After a number of months of slowly learning the different characteristics of beers and their distinctive differences, I've decided to start at number 1 and work my way through the 'local tap-house's 100 hottest craft beers of 2010' with the hope that by the end of it I'll be able to tell the difference between an Indian pale ale and a Pilsner with 25grams of extra Saaz hops.

NUMBER 11
LITTLE CREATURES BRIGHT ALE

The Little Creatures Bright Ale. So as soon as i poured this from the glass you can understand where the name comes from on this tasty little drop. The colour is an extremely vibrant yellow gold. With an average head on, but thick and white with a subtle gold tinge to the head. It takes a while to get to grips with the sensational colour of this brew.As the head subsides it leaves a strong lacing.

Straight away you notice a very hoppy scent to it. The strongest being the unmistakable aroma of  SAAZ hops. The aroma is clean and fresh, crisp and new. As soon as you take a sip of the Bright Ale you realise that the taste is not as hoppy as the smell would have you think. With pale malty influences, and caramel hints, this results in a smooth and crispness unlike any beer i know.

This is the first time i can honestly use the term 'Session Beer'. owing largely to the lightness of this brew, one could easily see themselves sitting back outside a pub somehwere with friends on a summers day, putting away far too many of these little treasures. I thoroughly enjoyed this beer and urge everyone to give it a go next time you have to choose a 6-pack or if its on tap at your local place.

Delicious!!!
